Projects & activities
Four programmes. Every one graded by how far it gets someone.
We use the sport's own whitewater grading system, Grade I through V, to signal how developed each programme is, from entry-level community work to full international competition.

National Team & Competition
Our competitive programme runs year-round trials on the White Nile, culminating in a national team that has represented Uganda at continental and world-stage events. Athletes train on the same rapids used in international competition, coached toward the technical, endurance and teamwork standards that international judging demands.

Youth & Grassroots Development
Many of our strongest paddlers started as children who lived beside the river but had never been taught to swim it safely. This programme puts safety-first instruction, basic paddling technique and mentorship in front of that talent pool, building a pipeline from riverside village to national jersey.

Guide & Safety Certification
A credible commercial rafting industry depends on credible guides. We run certification courses covering swiftwater rescue, first aid, group management and river reading, raising the safety bar across every operator on the Nile, not just our own athletes.

Athlete Welfare & Life Beyond the Rapids
Elite sport is demanding, and rafting careers can be short. Our welfare program ensures athletes have access to medical care, physiotherapy, nutritional advice, and psychological support throughout their competitive years. We also partner with local businesses and educational institutions to provide skills training, internships, and entrepreneurial support for life after competition. By investing in the whole person, not just the paddler;we build a resilient, empowered team that contributes to Uganda long after they hang up their helmets.
How programmes connect
A single pipeline, from riverside village to world championship start line.
A young paddler enters through youth development, grows into guide certification or competitive trials, and , for the strongest athletes , reaches the national team that represents Uganda internationally. Conservation and access work underpins every stage of it.
