About the federation

Built on the same water we compete in.

Our mission

Develop the sport of whitewater rafting in Uganda, from riverbank to world stage.

The Uganda Water Rafting Federation exists to elevate whitewater rafting from local riverbanks to international podiums. As the national governing body, we train elite paddlers, establish industry-leading safety standards for river guides, and represent Uganda's pride on the global stage.

Where we work

The Nile, Jinja, and beyond.

Our home water is the White Nile at Jinja, home to world-class rapids that host global competitions. It is where our athletes train, our guides certify, and the next generation learns to read the river.

What we stand for

Three principles that shape every programme we run.

Safety first, always

Every programme , from a child's first swim lesson to national team training , runs on internationally recognised safety standards. No result is worth compromising it.

Talent isn't postcode-dependent

Some of our strongest athletes grew up beside the rapids they now race. We build pathways so where you're born on the river doesn't decide whether you get to compete on it.

The river is a shared resource

We compete on public water. Protecting access to it, and its ecological health, isn't separate from our mission , it's the foundation of it.
